Status: Open | Effective 3 Sept 2026 0000Z
Impact: Operators using FlyQ+ EFB, FlyQ InSight, FlyQ Pocket, FlyQ Online, or ChartData Manager should be aware that FAA data cycle 2609 becomes available for download on 3 Sept 2026 for the US, Mexico, and Central America, with European coverage following in a separate release. Data must not be used operationally before the cycle's effective date; FlyQ+ EFB will continue using the current cycle until then and prompt before switching.
Description: The next FAA aeronautical data cycle (2609) takes effect Thursday, 3 September 2026. New ChartData is available for download immediately for the US, Mexico, and Central America; European data is not yet available and will be released separately.
FlyQ+ EFB includes a previously-requested capability: the new cycle's data can be downloaded in advance, but the app will continue operating on the current (August) cycle until 3 Sept, at which point it will prompt the user to switch. This prevents inadvertent use of unreleased data before it becomes valid.
Operators using a data provider other than APG should confirm availability directly with that provider — this notice covers APG chart data products only.
Affected cycles: 2609
Workaround: No fix is required — this is a scheduled release, not a defect. To update:
- FlyQ+ EFB: Tap the ChartData Manager icon (down arrow), review selected states, tap Update Now.
- FlyQ InSight / FlyQ Pocket: Select Downloads, tap Update Now.
- FlyQ Online: No action needed — new data applies automatically once the cycle begins.
- Data Manager (Windows): Run ChartData Manager or select Settings from the taskbar icon, tap Update Now.
Do not activate cycle 2609 data for flight planning or navigation before 3 Sept 2026 0000Z.
